SO MUCH STUFF

6 Hours.
I enjoyed this spread once I got rid of my awful first draft. I didn't even post it because it was so awful. But here is the new and approved (cute pun, eh?) one.

3 Hours.
Detours. Didn't really like doing this one. Not a whole lot of inspiration. Kinda half wayed it on this one. Not strong whatsoever.

6 Hours.
This is my revised Version of my Grand Tetons post. It used to be that red bike. I redid it mostly cuz I don't think Rusty liked the first one enough. Hopefully that changed? Ya ya?

omgoshwowwhatthehecki'malmostdone!

OMGOSH I'M ALMOST DONE!!

Woopsie...forgot this little guy!

4 Hours.
I like him. He's a cutie. I like frogs in general.

So much blogging is getting done!!! ...During another class....

3 Hours.
I got this idea from a skirt that I just bought. It was red with white High Wheel old fashioned bikes all over it in every which way. I personally thought it was adorable so I bought it. And I was thinking to myself, "I want to ride this bike. But not in the mountains." And thus the tagline. I like it's bluntness, however I ended up scrapping this completely and working with a different idea. It transformed into my Bucket List idea. I like my new idea much better, however I still really like this style of graphics.

3 Hours.
I love the idea of the right brain being the creative side and the left brain being the analytical side. I played that up with this photo, however I then found a better picture. I wanted to branch off from the centering text on everything, because I feel as though that has become a crutch for me. If I can't make it good, make it centered.

4 Hours.
This is my favorite so far. I love the colors, the concept, the text. I just enjoy it a lot. I would notice it if it were printed by printing services. I would also steal it off the residence hall's walls if I passed by it. Sounds conceited I know, but I didn't do the graphic (which is my favorite part...exactly what I was looking for when I was researching) so I feel like I can boast on someone else's behalf. I used the graphic from a Mercedes website. I am however experimenting with this idea and this right brain/left brain idea in my Drawing 3 class. I'm looking forward to my own designs on this basis.

1 Hour.
Mostly worked with type.

1 Hour.
Mostly worked with type again.

1 Hour.
Ditto.

2 Hours.
(Research included)
Based on the Keep Calm and Carry on posters whose original creator is not known. They were propaganda before the 2nd World War to encourage people to stay with their daily lives and to be strong. I liked applying it to the forrest fires mostly because I found it on a pack of matches and thought, "Hey, that's a little contradictory to what I'm wanting to do...hey wait what! I could do that!"

1 Hour.
Same as before. :)

1 Hour.
Same as before. Hopefully will get approved soon.

30 Minutes.
I haven't gotten this approved or even looked at. That's my goal for tonight. Approval.

1 Hour.
Enjoyable thing to do. Long time ago.

5 Hours.
LOTS AND LOTS OF REVISIONS. See below:

Mid term Review!

2 Hours.

I actually enjoyed this one, and it was a runner up in my mind to being in my portfolio. I would have changed it a lot, but I think it could have gotten a lot better. I sort of used a grid (....I know I'm not supposed to admit that I didn't FULLY use a grid, but I'm taking my chances here.) It would have been a fun layout to pursue doing more with it.

30 Minutes.
After just getting back into Vis Com after a month long break, my creative juices were SOO not flowing. This banner sucked. I'm aware. We can all agree. Not good work. In fact, the first few things I did, I hated with a passion. Just not my best work.

1 Hour.
It didn't take very long to come up with these layouts. Mostly because I couldn't think of anything so I felt like I slopped it on the page in an attempt to make it look nice and then have others tell me what I could do with it.

45 Minutes.
I decently liked this page. I spent about 45 minutes on it. Thought it was decent.

1 Hour.
I liked this one the most, however no one else did...it makes me question my validity as a designer when I like stuff that no one else likes or I think something looks awesome and everyone else is like, "Um, nope. it's actually chicken poo." So it's like, "oh, okay, then yeah I think that too but not really but I'm just too scared to point out what I actually like." That was this piece in a nutshell. I see what's wrong with it. But I liked where I was going.

Sooo...getting sick isn't the greatest way to keep up with work.
This cat not only represents how I looked Monday morning but also my mindset that day.

I'm close to getting one thing approved! I'm excited. I'm also starting to get stressed. This is me when I'm stressed....

So there's this new epidemic on YouTube with the "Sh*t So-and-So's say". I propose that some of us get together and be our normal font-snob selves and make a "Sh*t Vis Com Majors Say".
Ideas (remember to say in head with a sassy voice):
"Oh yeah, I love Comic Sans. NOT."
"Can I borrow your spray mount? I won't use a lot, I promise. *uses a lot*"
"Helvetica. Omg I love it."
"WHY IS WAL MART OUT OF BLACK FOAM CORE? They planned this."
"Yeah, that font is a little tight."
"Apple products beat PC's"
"Oh hey look it's Bodoni. They probably should have gone with Didot."
"Times is so overused."
"Do you know how to download this font?"
"Know any good free font sites?"
"My teacher hates this display font. But I love it!"
"Wow look at those photoshop skills."
*Squint at screen for four hours*
"You have money on your print account? You can have my first born child if you let me print!"

There's more. We're all typeface snobs and we know it. Might as well make fun of ourselves. :)
I felt bed-ridden all day so I thought of this.
TOMORROW IS MY WORK DAY! I'm going to get so much work done! WOOOHOOO!

NO MONDAY CLASS!! WOOOOH!

I'm so tired. It was so nice having Monday off. In fact, if Rusty would feel so inclined to do that more, I would be ever so appreciated.

So, words that made my day already at 7:30 in the morning was that my concept "sucked" Rusty in. My eyes got huge. Pretty sure a minor stroke happened.

But yeah. Wednesday. Been a quick week. Probably because I didn't start my Monday at 7 AM. ;)
All for now. I'm going to hopefully start getting stuffs approved so I'll be posting those as they come!

Also: I'm craving some summer right now. I'd like to go swimming. Just saying.
