1. Monotype Typeface--Didot (Requirements: 1 poster, 1 webpage)
I ended up liking what I did for this. Not so much the webpage, pretty sure that was a pity red ok on my paper and not a legitimate one, but at this point, hey, I'll take it!
2. Smokey the Bear National Geographic Spreads (Requirements: 3 posters, 1 animated banner)
Concept: KEEP CALM
These are made to be a series but in separate issues of National Geographic. As said in a previous post, they're inspired by the KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON posters made in the mid 1930s.
3. Grand Tetons (Requirements: 1 poster, 1 iPad insert)
Concept: Bucket List
This is my favorite concept and execution. I'm not sure why. I just really like it. The picture is from www.123rf.com.
4. Herpetology Department (Requirements: 1 poster, 1 animated banner)
Concept: Group of Frogs is an army!
I love frogs. There wasn't a whole lot of just "fun" projects to do and I felt like this one we were able to branch off and just enjoy the idea of herpetology. Who doesn't think a frog jumping is cute? Unless you're deathly afraid of them or something. But overall, this was probably my second favorite poster I did. I realized I LOVE poster designing! Oh, and btw, I lost the original file for my animated banner. There were many tears over it. But I redid it. Not as great as the first one, but hey, it's done.
5. Jazz Combo Concert (Requirements: 1 poster, 1 iPad insert)
Concept: Jazzy Flapper lady
First poster we really got to do for this one! It was fun, I enjoyed the silhouette creating.
6. Red Barn Arts and Crafts Festival (Requirements: 1 poster, 1 non-animated banner)
Concept: Right Brain
Okay, so I keep saying this one's my fave, then this one's my fave. Well, this was my favorite to create. Mostly because of the colors. I love when we get full color. None of this two color process crap. It's not as fun. More challenging. But not as fun. So screw that. I printed this one mostly because I wanted to hang it in my room after I'm done with it. The colors are just so pretty!
7. NAHM Poster Series (Requirements: 3 posters, 1 animated banner)
Concept: Come See Snapshots of History
Oh my gosh. The Native American posters. I had the worst time ever getting a concept for this. It sucked. And then it sucked some more. It didn't stop sucking until I thought of this. And some may even say this sucked too. I lost this animated banner as well...before you ask, yeah, there were tears on this one. It's like when you cut yourself with an Xacto knife. WHO CARE'S THAT YOU'RE BLEEDING?! Just DON'T get it on your work! Same as tears. WHO CARE'S THAT YOU'RE CRYING?! Just DON'T get it on your work! I think I'm getting more cynical as this class and blog goes on. Good? Bad? Neutral?
8. Stressed (Requirements: 1 layout spread)
Concept: Arm Wrestling Dudes
Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. The theme of the year so far. Stressed out? Um. FREAKING DUH! I realized I would get more stressed out the more I talked about it after I read this article. Also, after hearing people in passing talking about how stressed they were, it made me more stressed too. I wish I hadn't actually read the article so I wouldn't have been so self aware and crap. But now I know. I was proud of this layout....I hope you are, too, Rusty.
So. Whatcha think? A worthy? I sure hope so! Here's my, "Can I pleeaassee have an A?" face.
Cute, right?
